It has also allowed SpaceX to upgrade its Gen2 satellites with \u201cadvanced form factors and cutting-edge technology,\u201d to operate across more frequencies and to add more orbital shells to optimize coverage and performance. This approval will give the company\u2019s fleet a boost and will allow it to offer internet and mobile services to more parts of the globe. The satellites will also enable SpaceX to offer \u201cdirect-to-cell connectivity outside the United States and supplemental coverage\u201d within the US. <\/p>\n<p>In the United States, SpaceX has a <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/science\/space\/t-mobile-and-spacexs-satellite-to-phone-service-gets-fcc-approval-134501756.html\" data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\">partnership with T-Mobile<\/a>, which gives its subscribers access to satellite-to-phone services. It enables subscribers to send texts and access compatible apps even in remote locations. SpaceX originally asked for permission to deploy 29,988 second-generation Starlinks in 2020, but the FCC only granted it <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/fcc-spacex-7500-second-gen-starlink-satellites-100339027.html\" data-i13n=\"slk:permission for 7,500;cpos:6;pos:1\">permission for 7,500<\/a> in 2022.
